The College Library and its Rules

The college library is one of its proud possessions that entitles students of different departments to around 16,381 books, including 620 periodicals/journals. The library has been thoroughly computerized so that students can access books smoothly. The library also provides Internet access and Xerox facilities to our students. Each and every book in the library has been included in the computerized index. The library boasts of many rare books that are no longer in print.

Some inportant books :Encyclopaedia Britannica 1985 edtion – 19 volumes. Micropaedia – 10 volumes, Human Anatomy.

LIBRARY RULES :

Books of the college library are lent under the following conditions :

i) The library is open on college days from 10-30 a.m. to 4-35 p.m.
ii) Members are allowed to issue two books for lending at a time for a period of 15 days. Faculty members are allowed five books for a period of 30 days.
iii) Members must show their Library Card on entering the Library, while borrowing books and journals and at any time if asked to do so by the Library Staff.
iv) Briefcases, bags, umbrella, lunch boxes and other personal belongings must be deposited at the entrance.
v) Every member must sign the Register available at the entrance.
vi) A non-member student can also use the library material in the premises with the permission of the Librarian. An external or casual student can use the library with prior permission of the Principal.
vii) Reader should not mark, underline, dog-ear mark, write, tear pages or damage the library documents.
viii) Strict silence, decorum and discipline must be maintained in the Library.
ix) Members should behave in a reasonable and descent fashion in the library and must not damage library property or disturb other members.
x) Smoking, eating, sleeping and talking loudly are strictly prohibited in the Library.
x) Newspapers and magazines must be read only in the Library on specific tables and should not be taken to any other reading areas.
xii) No library material can be taken out of the library without permission. Anyone who violates the rules and regulations of the library would be liable to lose the privilege of Library Membership
xiii) The Librarian, with the approval of the Library Committee, reserves the right to add, delete, alter or modify any of the above rules as and when felt essential.
xiv) Books lost must be replaced.
